UK’s Joint Committe on the National Security Strategy says “There is a high risk that the Government will face a catastrophic ransomware attack at any moment, and that its planning will be found lacking.”
According to their report, the most vulnerable sectors, such as healthcare and local government, are either relying on legacy IT systems or are cash-strapped. The “soft underbelly” of critical infrastructure is supply chains.
Guess what? The rest of the world is in the same proverbial boat.
