“As Law Enforcement, not only are we tasked with safeguarding people and our communities, we are the gatekeepers for the personal information we store and maintain. We cannot merely hope for the best, we are mandated to have protection and security in place.”

Where they started

Before Neatoware, the Sheriff’s Office relied on IT support shared with other county departments. Equipment was aging with no replacement plan, and leadership had no view into the agency’s security.

“The entire system was antiquated—no share drive or server, no departmental email. Absolutely no security to protect information.”

Chief Deputy

There was no wifi. Not every staff member had email or a phone. Deputies wrote reports on paper because patrol vehicles had no mobile data terminals. As David Griffeth puts it, the agency was “operating 1980s/90s style.”

Managed service began in April 2017, and onboarding took about 90 days.

What we built together

Dispatch, records and jail management replacement

A major replacement of the agency’s CAD, RMS and JMS systems, including a new virtualization stack underneath them.

Mobile data terminals

MDTs in patrol vehicles, moving deputies off paper reports.

Email and phones for everyone

Departmental email, a server and a shared drive built by Neatoware, plus staff and administrative phone systems for every user who needed them.

Wifi

A wireless network for the agency, where there was none before.

The E-911 center

The E-911 center is a department of the Sheriff’s Office and came on with Neatoware at the same time. Neatoware supports the center’s IT. 911 service and radios are provided separately by the agency’s 911 carrier and radio vendor.

“Whenever I encounter a problem, I can reach out to our IT officer [David Griffeth, Neatoware’s vCIO], and he jumps right on it. Most of the time, he resolves the issue either immediately or by the end of the business day. There have only been a few occasions when it took longer to diagnose and fix any issues we faced. If I need Neatoware, I can call and talk to a real person. They’re always available to help, even if I just have a question!”

“I highly recommend Neatoware because they prioritize security. I don’t worry about hackers. We’ve had a couple of instances where a hacker attempted to access our system, but Neatoware handled it promptly. They were able to catch the attempts right away, preventing any breaches. Plus, spam emails aren’t an issue thanks to their effective spam filter.”

Working with Neatoware

The Chief Deputy already knew David Griffeth from working together at a previous law enforcement agency.

“The greatest advantage of NEATOWARE is the relationship with David and his genuine concern for assisting our agency in operational tasks, down to the most minimal detail”

Chief Deputy

Both leaders told us they feel much more confident, that responsiveness has been better than they expected, and that they would definitely recommend Neatoware. Both said they now know exactly who to call, see fewer recurring problems and have more peace of mind.
